Climate requirement for shiitake fruiting rooms

A right climate system will help growers harvesting better quality and high yield shiiake mushrooms.

Here below is the climate requirment for your reference:

Temperature:
Pinning – First lower to 10–12°C for 24 hours, then raise to 18–20°C
Fruiting – daytime 18–20°C
Fruiting – nighttime 12–14°C (creates a 5–10°C day‑night difference)
Late fruiting 14–16°C

General temperature range: 8–26°C.
– Low‑temperature type spawn: 5–20°C
– Medium‑temperature type spawn: 10–22°C
– High‑temperature type spawn: 15–25°C

Humidity:

Stage Relative Humidity (RH)
Primordium initiation 90–95% – high moisture helps formation
Fruiting – day time 70–75%
Fruiting – night time 80–85%
Fruit body growth 85–90%
Pinhead emergence 80–90%
Late growth / quality improvement Can be lowered to 70–80% to enhance firmness and even induce cracked‑cap (flower) mushrooms

Too low humidity → slow growth and cap cracking;
Too high humidity → poor quality and increased disease risk.

Other parameters:

· Light – scattered light of 500–800 lux during fruiting (day time only).
· CO₂ concentration – 1000ppm~2000ppm.
