Diesel generator for mushroom farms

A diesel generator serves as a critical backup power system in a mushroom farm.

Here are the specific reasons why a mushroom farm needs one:

1. For fruiting rooms:

Mushrooms are not like field crops; they grow in controlled environments (indoors or in tunnels). They require climate units for temperature,humidity and co2 auto control.

· Ventilation: Mushrooms consume oxygen and emit carbon dioxide (CO₂). If exhaust fans stop due to a power outage, CO₂ levels can spike to lethal levels within 30 to 60 minutes, suffocating the developing pins (baby mushrooms).
· Temperature: Spawn run (mycelium growth) generates heat. If cooling systems fail, the compost can overheat, killing the mycelium instantly. Conversely, freezing temperatures can ruin a crop.
· Humidity: It require humidifier or steam boiler to maintain humidity. If humidity drops, mushrooms dry out, crack and lose value.

2. For spawn room or spawn cold room:

Mushroom farms will produce spawn by themselves or buy mushroom spawn from suppliers, both of them need cooling system for spawn room or cold store.

3. For fresh mushroom cold room:

Mushrooms are harvested by hand. If the power goes out during daylight, the cold room stop running. Without backup power, harvested mushrooms left at room temperature will begin to brown and degrade within hours, leading to total loss of the day’s revenue.
